Mobile Phone launches of July 2020

Mobile Phone Launches in July 2020

Coronavirus pandemic and India-China cross border tensions have been an impediment to the growth of mobile phone industry in the country this year. From delaying and postponing mobile phone launches to finding alternatives for Chinese smartphone brands (which make up 80% of this market), these are hard times for both industry and consumers.

Let’s have a look at the smartphones launching this month.

1. Motorola

  • Motorola One Fusion – After launching Motorola One Fusion+ last month, its lighter version, Motorola One Fusion is expected to get launched this month. This quad-camera phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 18,000 in India.
  • Motorola Edge Lite – Another Motorola phone, Motorola Edge Lite is speculated to get launched in July. It is the lighter and cheaper version of company’s flagship, Motorola Edge+. It has a 6.7 inch large display with a punch-hole 8 MP camera for selfies at the top. It will be a mid-range phone coming at an expected price of Rs. 34,999 in India.

2. OnePlus Z/Nord – OnePlus Z/Nord has to be the most anticipated phone of the year by this company. Its launch has been postponed a couple of times in the past few months but, it is most likely to get launched this month and will be priced under Rs. 25,000. This affordable phone from OnePlus may include 120Hz QHD+ display, 48MP primary camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor.

3. Pixel 4a – Google has been delaying the launch of this phone for quite some time now but is rumored to get launched by mid-July. Pixel 4a, likely to be priced at Rs. 39,999 in India, will come with an OLED display and will run on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset.

From the launch of previous months’ postponed phones to Chinese companies like Oppo and Vivo keeping the release of their phones on hold, the month of July will witness a change of status quo. Moreover, Indian mobile phone companies like Micromax, Lava, Karbonn are all set to take advantage of the growing anti-China sentiment by launching their phones in the coming months.
