Following the company’s strategy of launching flagships every six months, Vivo V19 was scheduled to come in April 2020, six months after its predecessor, Vivo V17 Pro’s launch. After the launch got postponed due to the extension of lockdown, the phone finally launched in May. Vivo V19 is going to be the company’s face for the coming months and is all set to prove its worth in this competitive market.
We have seen that V-series smartphones are some of the company’s best-designed devices and V19 is no exception. It is a premium looking smartphone with 6.44-Inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED Display. The highlight of the phone is the two hole-punch selfie cameras set – a 32 Megapixel primary front camera and an 8 Megapixel wide-angle camera which is a great feature for group selfies. In favorable light, this phone delivers good pictures. In low light, the overall image quality drops but thanks to the night mode, which even though is a slow process produces a better output. On the rear, it has a quad-camera setup with a 48-MP Primary Camera, an 8-MP Ultrawide angle, a 2-MP Macro Camera and a 2-MP Depth Camera. The 8 GB RAM eases multitasking, and the phone’s exceptional battery life makes the user experience very smooth. With Snapdragon 712 SoC processor, the phone is underpowered as compared to its competitors. The gaming experience is also not up to the mark when other phones of same price range are taken into consideration. Its lighter variant is priced at Rs. 27,990 and the higher variant at Rs. 31,990.
Vivo has been doing great for the last five years in the Indian market. With 17 per cent share, Vivo was ahead of Samsung in Q1 2020, according to a Counterpoint report. Company’s V-series has always been a prominent smartphone lineup in the country. Let’s see if this flagship continues the legacy of holding a prime position in the company.
