At the start of every month we look forward to the new phones that are releasing that month. But this is no ordinary year. The outbreak of Covid-19 has cancelled big events like MWC 2020 and interrupted various phone releases. But some companies believe that the show must go on and have launched phones digitally on virtual platforms. Let’s have a look at the big launches and upcoming phones of this month.
OnePlus 8 Pro
With the success of OnePlus 7 series last year, OnePlus became the number 4 premium brand in the world. But there was still one area it was lagging in – its flagships weren’t competitive enough when compared other premium brands. With this most expensive OnePlus phone series they surely have worked on all the features that were pulling it down. The camera was one of those features that was not measuring up to other flagships. Now, they have changed it by bringing a quad-camera setup with 48MP standard wide camera, 48MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP telephoto camera, 5MP Color Filter camera and a 16MP front camera. OnePlus 8 Pro also comes with wireless charging and the long due IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The phone has a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with 60/120Hz refresh rate and a screen resolution of 1440 x3168 pixel. Other specifications of the phone include 8GB/126GB and 12GB/256GB RAM and storage, 4510 mAh battery and is expected to cost around Rs. 55,000-60,000 in India.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro
The company’s most premium flagship phone, Mi 10 Pro was announced in mid-February and is expected to go on sale in India soon. With a 6.67 inch AMOLED display and 1080×2340 pixels resolution, it fairs well in the high end smartphone market. It bears a 20 MP front camera with a rear quad camera setup of 108MP + 8MP + 12MP + 20MP cameras. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro has a lot to offer with its 4500mAh. With qualcomm snapdragon processor, RAM and storage of 12 GB and 128 GB, this phone is a specs beast and looks very promising. It is expected to be priced at Rs. 51,190.
iPhone SE (2nd Gen)
In this time of crisis, not flashy flagships but affordable phones are what we need. With the launch its most affordable phone, iPhone SE, Apple is hoping to make this hard time work in its favor. iPhone SE comes in a familiar design and looks similar to iPhone 8. It has a 4.7 inch retina HD display with 1334 x 750 pixels of resolution. Apple has used its fastest A13 Bionic processor which was used in iPhone 11 series. It comes with the best single-camera system with a 12 MP rear camera with portrait mode, six portrait lighting effects and depth control. The 7 MP front camera also supports portrait mode. It’ll come in three storage variants – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and a 2 GB RAM. Its starting price in India is going to be Rs. 42,500.
